On July 9, 2024, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) hosted a distinguished lecture and monument commissioning ceremony in honor of the late Major General Aderonke Kale (retired), a pioneering figure who made history as the first female officer to attain the rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army (NA). This event celebrated her remarkable achievements and underscored the importance of gender equality in the military.

In his speech, Major General Ochai also emphasized the NDA's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every individual, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to excel. Major General Kale's legacy inspires us to continue striving for a more inclusive and equitable military," he said.
