In a remarkable achievement, 22-year-old Nigerian graduate Emmanuel Okikiola has successfully broken the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon. A graduate of Ekiti State University, Okikiola set out on a mission to surpass the previous record-holder, Indian singer Sunil Waghmare, who achieved 105 hours of non-stop singing in March 2012.

In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Okikiola expressed confidence in achieving the 150-hour mark, stating, "We are hitting 150 tomorrow by the special grace of God." This extraordinary feat aims to position Okikiola as the sole record-holder for the longest singing marathon.

Motivated by a desire to use music as a tool for spreading positive messages, Okikiola sees his accomplishment as an opportunity to inspire and share valuable knowledge. He stated, "I have to take this action in order to disseminate a great deal of knowledge because music is a great tool for doing so throughout the nation."

This achievement follows a previous attempt by Okikiola, where he sang for 62 hours. However, logistical issues and device problems led to an unsuccessful outcome. Undeterred, the Microbiology graduate remained committed to his goal, stating, "I was able to do 62 hours. But there was some logistics issue that I had. My camera broke down, and my time stopped."
