NIM Honours Oyo State College of Education Deputy Registrar with Fellow Award
The Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) has bestowed the fellow award upon the Deputy Registrar of Oyo State College of Education, OYSCOED.
The Nigerian Institute of Management, NIM, (Chartered) has bestowed the prestigious Fellow award upon Deputy Registrar, Mr. Abayomi Oladele Salako, who oversees the Council Affairs of the Oyo State College of Education, OYSCOED, Lanlate.
The award ceremony, held under the theme "Integrating Sustainability into Strategic Decision Making," took place on Thursday, August 22, 2024, during the 2024 Awards, Fellows, and Spouses Day Luncheon at Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
President and Chairman of the Council, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Dr. Mrs. Christiana V. N. Atako, presented the distinguished grade of Fellow award to Mr. Salako. The institute's executive summary emphasized the critical need to equip leaders with essential management and leadership skills in today's challenging and competitive socio-political environment. It further highlighted the demand for excellent governance, resource management, emotional intelligence, and leadership capabilities to achieve peak performance.
Mr. Abayomi Salako's impressive academic journey includes studies at Methodist Primary School, Lanlate; Bioku Grammar School, Lanlate; Social Development Staff Training Centre, Ibadan; University of Ilorin (B.A. Performing Arts); University of Ibadan (M.A. Communication & Language Arts); Oyo State College of Education (Dip. MIS); and Baptist College of Theology, Oyo (Diploma in Theology).
As a seasoned administrative officer, Mr. Salako, has held various positions, including Establishments Officer, Admissions Officer, School Officer, Academic Affairs Officer, Internal Quality Assurance Officer, and Council Affairs Officer. He also served as President of the Performing Arts Students Association at the University of Ilorin and led the Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN), Lanlate Chapter.
His commitment to excellence earned him academic honours as the best graduating student in the Department of Performing Arts. Additionally, he received awards for creativity, including writing the Departmental Anthem (PASA Anthem) and serving as Best Technical Director.
