In a momentous ceremony on December 12th, 2023, the Department of Early Childhood Education at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, bestowed a distinguished honor upon Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, fnipr. The event marked a significant recognition of Prof. Omenugha's illustrious career, which includes serving two terms as the Commissioner of Education in Anambra State, achieving the milestone of being the Second Female Professor of Mass Communication in Nigeria, and currently holding the esteemed position as the First Female Vice Chancellor of a State University in South East Nigeria.
The honor, presented at a ceremony attended by academic and community leaders, showcased the Department's acknowledgment of Prof. Omenugha's remarkable contributions to education and her trailblazing achievements in breaking gender barriers in academia.
