Northwest University Kano VC Continues Inspection of First Semester Examinations, Visits Murtala Muhammad Library

The Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, continued her inspection of the ongoing First Semester Examination for the 2025/2026 Academic Session across the University’s Main Campus.

The examination commenced on Monday, August 10, 2026. The inspection is in line with the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to personally monitoring major academic activities of the University.

During the second-day tour, Professor Bayero visited several examination halls and observed the conduct of the examinations. She interacted with invigilators and students and sought feedback on compliance with examination regulations, student welfare, and the smooth coordination of the exercise.

The Vice-Chancellor commended invigilators and other staff members for their commitment, discipline, and professionalism, noting that the credibility of the University’s assessment process depends on the collective responsibility of both staff and students.

She urged students to remain focused, punctual, and disciplined throughout the examination period and to adhere strictly to all examination rules and regulations.

The inspection also provided an opportunity to assess areas that may require attention from University Management to enhance the examination experience and maintain a conducive environment for teaching, learning, and assessment.

As part of the activities, Professor Bayero and her entourage proceeded to the Murtala Muhammad Library for an extensive inspection of the facility. The visit was aimed at assessing the current state and functionality of the Library and identifying areas for improvement to make it more habitable and conducive for academic activities.

The Vice-Chancellor undertook a comprehensive tour of the Library, visiting various sections and interacting with personnel to understand operations, facilities, users’ needs, and areas requiring improvement. Particular attention was given to the physical condition of the facility, suitability of spaces for reading and research, and the overall environment for students and researchers.

Professor Bayero emphasised the importance of a functional and conducive Library to achieving the University’s academic objectives, stressing that a modern university must provide spaces that encourage reading, independent learning, research, intellectual engagement, and knowledge production.

She noted that the Library remains a critical component of the University’s academic infrastructure and should be maintained to meet the changing needs of students, academic staff, researchers, and other members of the University community.

The visit further demonstrates the commitment of the Professor Amina Salihi Bayero-led administration to supervising academic activities as well as the physical and institutional facilities that support effective teaching, learning, and research.

Professor Bayero was accompanied by the Registrar, Dr. Isyaku Adamu; the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Musa; Director of Maintenance, Engineer Muhammad Adamu and his team; Director of ICE, Dr. Lawal Idris; and members of the University’s Public Relations Team.

The First Semester Examination for the 2025/2026 Academic Session continues as scheduled. University Management has reiterated its call on students and staff to maintain discipline, punctuality, fairness, integrity, and strict compliance with all approved examination regulations.
