NOUN NHF unit holds interactive session with estate developers for staff

The National Housing Fund (NHF) Unit of the Bursary, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has facilitated an interactive session staff of the university  with estate developers as part of efforts for the staffers to patronise and own affordable properties, Myschoolnews report.

The session, which was held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Convocation Arena, NOUN headquarters, Jabi, Abuja, has the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Villa Homes and T-Pumpy as guests.

In her opening remarks, Head of the Unit, Mrs. Busari Idayat A., said the management was interested in making housing available and affordable for staff, hence the management's approval for some developers to make presentations on their housing packages.

In their presentations, the FHA said their properties are affordable, in good location and well-secured, adding that they have all the title documents for their properties.

FHA also showcased to the staff what they call “Smart Packaging Solutions,” comprising of a hybrid solar panel, inverter and a gas cylinder.

Similarly, for the Villa Homes, they informed members of staff that mortgage could be processed within six months, even as instalmental payment is also allowed.

The representative of the company equally hinted that staff cooperative of the university could buy land from them.

In the same vein, T-Pumpy, in its presentation, said interested members of staff could get access to the property through Loan Board or Cooperative, adding that the payment will be spread over nine months or one year.

While assuring members of staff of their genuineness and openness in their mode of operations, T-Pumpy implored the staff to seize the opportunity at their disposal to own a property at ease.

The event attracted questions from members of staff, who thronged in their numbers and answers were given by the representatives of the companies.

Drawing the curtain of the session, the Bursar, Malam Nasiru Marafa, represented by the Deputy Bursar, Mr. Paul Akom, thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, for hosting the event.

Marafa commended the guests for the title documents and thanked them for their wonderful presentations.

The highlight of the event was the pictorial presentations of their properties as well as distribution of their flyers for viewing and access to contact addresses of their respective companies.
