NOUN Opens Abstract Submission for 10th ACS Symposium
The symposium, themed Advancing Sustainability Through AI-Driven Chemistry, invites submissions of abstracts for oral and poster presentations from all areas of chemistry.
The 10th Annual Symposium of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Nigeria International Chemical Sciences Chapter is set to take place at the headquarters of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, from May 4 to 7, 2025. The event will have NOUN’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, as the Chief Host.
The symposium, themed Advancing Sustainability Through AI-Driven Chemistry, invites submissions of abstracts for oral and poster presentations from all areas of chemistry. According to Dr. Thompson Ezuagie, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, the abstract submission portal is now open.
The symposium will focus on five sub-themes: AI in Chemistry: Current Trends and Future Directions, The Synergy between AI and Chemistry for Tackling Global Challenges, Integrating AI in Computational Chemistry for Deeper Insights, AI-Predictive Capabilities Redefining Innovations in the Chemical Industry, and AI-Enhanced Pedagogies for Greening the Chemistry Curriculum.
Key speakers at the event include Prof. Leroy (Lee) Cronin of the University of Glasgow, UK; Prof. Nnabuk Okon Eddy, FAS, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Prof. Omolara O. Oluwaniyi of the University of Ilorin; and Prof. Omotayo Arotiba, Director of the Centre for Nanomaterials Science Research at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa.
