The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced plans to construct a security outpost at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). The Commandant-General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, revealed this during a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, at the NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Audi emphasized that the new outpost will bolster the security architecture of the university, aligning with the Federal Government's Safe School Initiative. He congratulated Professor Sa'adatu on her historic appointment as the first female indigenous Vice-Chancellor of NSUK and reaffirmed the NSCDC's commitment to maintaining a strong partnership with the university. He also called for increased collaboration between the two institutions to ensure a safe academic environment.
In her remarks, Professor Sa'adatu expressed gratitude for the NSCDC's support, particularly for the donation of an ambulance and the establishment of the Safe School Initiative headquarters at NSUK. She noted that these efforts have contributed significantly to the stability and security of the university.
The visit concluded with an exchange of souvenirs between the Vice-Chancellor and the Commandant-General, symbolizing the continued cooperation between the two organizations.
