NSUK Partners with UNDP and TETFUND to Boost Research and Innovation

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), hosted a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The meeting, held at the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research, Innovation, and Linkages, was a strategic move to strengthen collaboration in research and innovation.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation, and Linkages, Dr. K'tso Nghargbu, expressed his delight at the new partnership. He emphasized that the collaboration will be crucial in advancing the university's mission of "Knowledge for Development" by creating a greater impact on national development. Dr. Nghargbu appreciated the delegation’s commitment and expressed hope that the partnership would generate solutions to community and global challenges, ultimately improving human lives.

The leader of the UNDP–TETFUND delegation, Dr. William Tsuma, commended the university's management for its dedication to the collaboration. He explained that the visit's primary mission was to inspect the university's UNIPOD facility and identify new ways to strengthen research and innovation. Dr. Tsuma highlighted that both organizations share a mandate to bridge the gap between research and innovation across the country to foster national development. He noted that the partnership will demonstrate how UNIPOD can harness the potential of young people to drive economic growth for the benefit of Nasarawa State and Nigeria.

The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the visiting delegation by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
