The National Administrative Committee of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP) on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.

The meeting was held at the hospital’s boardroom as part of activities marking the Union’s third quarterly National Administrative and Executive Council meeting hosted by the Oyo State Council.

Introducing the delegation, the Oyo State Chairman of NUAHP explained that the visit was to pay homage to the hospital management in whose domain the meeting was being hosted. He stressed that it was also an opportunity for the Union to honour and interact with the leadership of UCH.

The General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Martin Egbanubi, presented members of the delegation and restated that the courtesy call was a gesture of solidarity and appreciation to the management.

In his remarks, the National President of NUAHP, Comrade Pharm. Kamal Ibrahim Alhassan, commended UCH Management for implementing staff-friendly policies that have fostered industrial harmony within the institution. He assured the CMD and his team of the Union’s continuous support in achieving the vision of building a world-class UCH and advancing the Nigerian health sector.

During the visit, Comrade Alhassan decorated the Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, with an honorary membership award of the Union, capping him with a customized NUAHP cap in recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities and contributions to staff welfare.

In his response, Professor Otegbayo expressed deep appreciation for the visit and the honour bestowed upon him. He reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to prioritize staff welfare and sustain the harmonious working relationship between management and labour.

The courtesy visit was attended by principal officers of the hospital and members of the NUAHP national leadership.
