In a vibrant celebration of World Teachers’ Day 2024 at Eagle Square, Abuja, the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) presented a prestigious award to the Governor of Kano State. This recognition was given in acknowledgment of the exceptional performance in reforming Kano’s educational sector.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, highlighted the significant contributions of six governors who have shown unwavering commitment to advancing education. The NUT National Chairman, Comrade Titus Ambe, emphasized that these governors were selected for their dedication to supporting teachers’ welfare and continuous training.
In his acceptance speech, the Governor expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am honoured by the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) for their prestigious award in recognition of our exceptional performance in reforming Kano’s educational sector. We shall continue to invest in education, as it’s the best way to sustain progress and ensure that future generations thrive in our state.”
