NYSC Is Not a Scam: Awardee Muhammad Ridwan Highlights Impactful Achievements During Service Year
Ridwan popularly known as Imo kopa service led to multiple job offers, which he declined for personal reasons, reinforcing his commitment to making a meaningful contribution during his NYSC year.

Muhammad Ridwan, a recent NYSC award recipient, has shared his experiences and achievements during his service year in Imo State, emphasizing the positive impact of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Ridwan received the Imo State NYSC Award for outstanding community development service, presented by Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma, alongside the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and the Imo State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Raechel O. Ideawor.
Ridwan highlighted several key accomplishments during his one-year service:
- Organized a free medical outreach benefiting over 400 patients.

- Established the Evolving Drug Scheme (EDRS) Pharmacy at the 34 Artillery Brigade Medical Center.
- Served as General Secretary for the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria-Young Pharmacist Group in Imo State.
- Taught 34 students to recite from the Holy Quran.
- Established a mini provision store for Corps members and the Barrack community.
- Featured as a guest speaker on Darling FM Owerri and in various media outlets.

Ridwan emphasized that NYSC offers more than just a uniform; it’s an opportunity to make a significant impact and gain valuable experience. He encouraged prospective and current Corps members to focus on knowledge and experience rather than financial gain, stating that the rewards will follow.
