A National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member recently likened the NYSC orientation camp in Kaduna to the ‘Sahara Desert’ after a heavy sandstorm swept through the area.

In a now-viral video that made rounds on social media, corp members were captured running for shelter as the sandstorm engulfed the camp, severely reducing visibility.

Emyyxrubyy, the corp member who posted the video on her Tiktok page, humorously compared the camp to the Sahara desert. In her post, she wrote, "Posted to Sahara Desert for NYSC camp. Heavy Sand Storm in our Orientation camp. Guess Where??"

The sandstorm also caused significant damage to numerous pavilions within the camp. Business owners operating within the NYSC orientation camp where also spotted vacating the premises to ensure their safety.
