Mrs. Salamatu Abdurrahman Muhammad, the NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator, recently embarked on courtesy visits to two prominent royal figures in Keffi.
Mrs. Muhammad visited His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, the Emir of Keffi, at his palace. During the visit, she expressed her gratitude for the Emir's steadfast support and sought his blessings as she continues her duties with the NYSC. Mrs. Muhammad also took the opportunity to thank the Emir for his attendance at the NYSC Tree Planting Campaign's national flag-off, despite his demanding schedule.
The Emir warmly welcomed the NYSC team and spoke of Keffi’s rich historical background and its strategic importance. He assured Mrs. Muhammad that he would collaborate with the local government chairman to address the accommodation challenges faced by corps members in Keffi. In a gesture of goodwill, the Emir, a former corps member who served in Lagos 30 years ago, donated a bull to the corps members and urged for continuous prayers for peace and stability in the nation.
Mrs. Muhammad also visited Alhaji Rilwanu Usman, the Sarki Sabon Gari, to express her appreciation for his ongoing support, particularly during the orientation exercises. She requested his continued protection for corps members within his domain and thanked him for his presence at the national flag-off of the NYSC Tree Planting Campaign.
Alhaji Rilwanu Usman reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NYSC Scheme and ensuring the welfare of corps members. He prayed for the success of the NYSC Scheme, Mrs. Muhammad’s tenure, and for peace across the nation, emphasizing the importance of stability for national progress.
The visits, which were marked by the presentation of photographs, were attended by Mrs. Muhammad’s team, including management staff and corps members, reflecting the NYSC's dedication to fostering strong relationships with key community leaders.
