Obaseki Offers Automatic Employment to 12 First-Class Graduates of Edo Varsity
Among the 12 graduates, one individual named Emos Ishaku, an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) residing at Ihogua Camp in Edo, was also offered automatic employment.
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has announced that 12 first-class graduates of the Edo State University, Uzairue, will receive automatic employment in the Edo state civil service. This announcement was made during the university's 5th Convocation.
Among the 12 graduates, one individual named Emos Ishaku, an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) residing at Ihogua Camp in Edo, was also offered automatic employment.

Governor Obaseki emphasized the state's commitment to finishing infrastructural work in the medical sciences and the completion of the teaching hospital. He also instructed the extension of high-speed fiber optic deployment to the university to support learning.
The Vice Chancellor of Edo State University, Uzairue, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, noted that the university had achieved significant milestones within its seven years of existence, setting records for older universities in Nigeria to follow. The institution acquired Hi-Tech equipment for medical student training and introduced CANVAS Learning digital teaching and learning tools, being the first in Africa to do so.

Furthermore, the university was recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC) as the 10th best university in Nigeria, the 2nd best state university, and the best university in the South-South region of Nigeria in 2022.
The university's graduates included 12 first-class, 164 Second Class Upper division, 234 Second Class Lower division, and 14 third-class graduates. There were also nine Ph.D. graduates and four M.Phil graduates, while 48 students completed Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees, and 38 obtained Postgraduate Diplomas.
