OGITECH Marks Historic Graduation With Landmark 'Sign-Out' Celebration

The Management of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, OGITECH, Igbesa, officially celebrated its graduating Higher National Diploma, HND 2, and National Diploma, ND 2, students on Monday, 3rd August 2026, marking a historic milestone for the polytechnic.

In a pioneering move for the institution, the Rector, Dr Abiodun Oluseye, led the festivities, emphasising that academic excellence extends beyond lectures and late-night revision. According to him, well-rounded intellectual development requires a healthy blend of academic rigor, social engagement, and extracurricular activities.

Speaking at the event, the Rector pledged that the official 'sign-out' celebration would henceforth become an annual tradition at the Polytechnic. He warmly commended the graduating students for their exemplary conduct and orderly behaviour during the festivities. Dr Oluseye reaffirmed the Management’s steadfast commitment to achieving academic excellence while providing a safe, conducive, and modern learning environment.

Closing his address with heartfelt wishes, the Rector prayed for the graduands, asking God to grant them the wisdom and grace to fulfill their professional dreams and personal aspirations in life.

The colourful ceremony was held on the picturesque lawn facing the Prince Dapo Abiodun Administrative Block, with so much excitement and energy. Each departmental association proudly showcased custom banners displaying the names of the Class of 2026, alongside their respective departmental crests.

The event drew prominent members of the institute's leadership, including the Deputy Rector, Dr Oluyemi Odutola; the Acting Registrar, Dr Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson; alongside various Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, and staff members who gathered to bid the students farewell.

Adding to the significance of the day, the Students' Union Executive, led by Comrade Ilo Fadilu, etched their names into OGITECH history. As a lasting legacy and contribution to the polytechnic's development, the union officially donated five new lecterns to the institution.
