Ogun NIPR to Honor FUNAAB with Excellence in CSR Award

The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will honor the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with an Award of Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at its 2024 Colloquium on October 3, 2024, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto.

Ogun NIPR to Honor FUNAAB with Excellence in CSR Award

The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will honor the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with an Award of Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at its 2024 Colloquium. The event is scheduled for October 3, 2024, and will take place at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto.

The award recognizes FUNAAB's significant contributions to Teaching, Research, and Extension Services. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, expressed gratitude for the honor during a meeting with NIPR Executives on September 17, 2024, in his office. He highlighted the crucial role of Public Relations in tackling societal challenges, including food security, and confirmed his participation as a Lead Speaker at the Colloquium.

Mr. Olufemi Dokunmu, Chairman of the 2024 Colloquium Strategic Planning Committee, explained that the award was given in recognition of FUNAAB's efforts to responsibly produce and distribute farm produce, addressing food scarcity and inflation. He commended the university for its dedication as an agriculturally focused institution and its role in supporting the community through its farm produce.

Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, Chairperson of the Ogun NIPR, also thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception and extended an invitation for him to serve as the Lead Speaker at the Colloquium. The theme of the Colloquium is "Galvanizing Public and Private Stakeholders Towards Addressing Food Crisis in Nigeria: Public Relations as a Key Driver."

The meeting concluded with the presentation of Letters of Award and Invitation to Prof. Kehinde. The event was attended by Mr. Moses Ayanda, Deputy Registrar II; Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, Acting Head of the Directorate of Public Relations; Mr. Kunle Olayeni, Secretary; Mrs. Adijat Olaleye, Treasurer; and Miss Mayowa Alawode from the Ogun NIPR delegation.
