Ogun State Government Launches Gateway Skills Program to Empower Youth and SMEs
The Ogun State Government, in partnership with tech giants Google, Microsoft, Meta, and GetFundedAfrica Technologies (GFAT), has launched the Gateway Skills Program, an ambitious initiative aimed at unlocking the potential of the state’s youth and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) through advanced technological training and skill acquisition.

The Gateway Skills Program is designed to provide comprehensive support through tailored mentorship, skill enhancement, and the integration of cutting-edge technology. The program focuses on key areas such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship training, access to finance, and job placement, offering participants the tools they need to succeed in today’s digital economy.
Applications are now open for the next cohort of the 2024 Ogun State Gateway Project. The initiative seeks to train 100,000 SMEs, with a particular focus on young people, in the latest technological advancements to help them thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Under the leadership of GFAT, in collaboration with industry leaders like Microsoft, Google, and Meta, the program will equip small business owners and young graduates with the essential knowledge and skills to excel in the digital world.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in the Ogun State Government's commitment to fostering economic growth and empowering its citizens through technology and innovation.
