Ondo State Government Demands Release of Withheld 2024 WAEC Results

The Ondo State Government has expressed serious concern and disappointment over the withholding of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for some students from the 2024 session. This issue has arisen despite the state government having fulfilled all necessary registration fee payments.

According to reports, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has yet to release results for certain public secondary school students from Ondo State. This decision has left many students in a precarious position as they await admission into tertiary institutions.

Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, the Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, voiced his dismay at the development. He emphasized that WAEC has not provided any explanation for the delay in releasing the results. In a statement issued by Olaoluwa Meshack, the Ministry’s Head of Information and Media, Akindolire stressed that all registration fees were duly paid by the state government, questioning why the results are still withheld.
