 Barrister Chris Ogar, the Director of Legal Services at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, has urged the 2024 Batch B, Stream Two Corps Members deployed to Benue State to view their one-year National Service as an opportunity to make their nation proud.

Addressing the Corps Members during his oversight orientation tour at the NYSC Permanent Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, Barrister Ogar emphasized the importance of engaging seriously with all camp programs and attending every lecture. He stressed that participation in these segments is crucial for qualifying for the Certificate of National Service (CNS).

“Be law-abiding and adhere strictly to camp rules and regulations,” Barrister Ogar advised. “I expect to see exemplary discipline that reflects the positive feedback from the State Coordinator.”

He also cautioned the Corps Members against involvement in crimes, cyber crimes, and other social vices. Emphasizing the importance of good conduct, he urged them to avoid unauthorized travel, late-night journeys, and to only board vehicles at designated motor parks.

Highlighting the NYSC-NHIA GIFSHIP N program, Barrister Ogar encouraged the Corps Members to take advantage of the free and affordable health care services offered during their service year. He also advised them to focus on the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, noting that acquiring practical skills is vital, given the scarcity of white-collar jobs.

Additionally, the Director reminded the Corps Members to maintain a neat appearance and adhere to the NYSC uniform guidelines as stipulated in the NYSC Bylaws.

Earlier, State Coordinator Mrs. Garba Veronica reported that this batch of Corps Members has been the most disciplined and well-adjusted since the commencement of the orientation course. She noted their quick adaptation to the camp environment and their adherence to rules and regulations.

The orientation tour and the Director's address aimed to reinforce the values and expectations of the NYSC, setting a high standard for the service year ahead.
