Over 74,000 Candidates Register for 2023 NECO SSCE

The ongoing 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for external candidates has seen a substantial registration, with no fewer than 74,819 candidates participating nationwide. Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council (NECO), made this revelation while monitoring the examination at Government Science Secondary School Gombe, Gombe State, over the weekend.

In a statement by the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication at NECO, the Registrar, who is overseeing the examination nationwide, highlighted that the council had taken necessary steps to ensure a seamless examination process. The 2023 SSCE External commenced on November 20, 2023, and is scheduled to conclude on December 20, 2023. Candidates will be assessed in 29 different subjects.
The disclosure comes as a positive sign of robust participation in the external SSCE, showcasing the commitment of students across the country to academic excellence.
