PAMO University Radiography Graduates Receive Automatic Employment

 PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, celebrated a milestone at its first induction and oath-taking ceremony for its radiography pioneer graduates. In recognition of their exceptional academic performance, five radiography graduates were granted automatic employment at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), announced by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Chizindu Aliko, who represented the Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh.

Highlighting the graduates’ impressive research, performance, and ethical standards, Dr. Aliko commended the institution’s role in advancing healthcare in the state. “The Rivers State Ministry of Health remains dedicated to building healthcare capacity with PAMO University,” he stated, urging the graduates to uphold the professional ethics and serve as ambassadors of the university.

Dr. Peter Odili, Pro-Chancellor of PAMO University and former governor of Rivers State, reinforced the commitment to supporting medical professionals by confirming automatic employment for the graduates. "You will not experience a day of unemployment,” he announced. Dr. Odili urged the new radiographers to contribute positively to the healthcare narrative in the South-South region, adding, “To whom much is given, much is expected. Make a difference as you embark on this career journey.”

Dr. Abdulrahmon Sambo, in his opening remarks, emphasized the historic nature of the event, noting that only the University of Calabar and PAMO University offer radiography in the South-South. Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Prof. Noreen Agbapuonwu, applauded the graduates, emphasizing their crucial role in patient care and their potential impact on the healthcare system.

During the ceremony, Prof. Mark Okeji, Registrar of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), presented an award to Belema Princewill, the best graduating student in radiography. Prof. Okeji assured that Belema would receive complimentary registration with the RRBN as a further recognition of excellence.
