The program was held on Monday, 13th May 2024 at the university's main campus.
The event, led by Dr. Hadiza Talatu Muhammed, the Deputy Librarian of KASU, aimed to enlighten students about sickle cell anaemia. Dr Hadiza emphasised the significance of understanding one's genotype and that of their partner before marriage to determine the risk of passing on sickle cell anaemia to their children.
She highlighted that choosing partners wisely based on genotype can help control the spread of the disease and alleviate the immense burden faced by families caring for children with sickle cell anaemia.
