The induction ceremony, marking the 48th Induction/Oath-Taking ceremony of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science at UNN, saw a gathering of distinguished guests, faculty members, and proud parents.
Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of PCN, delivered a keynote address during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of upholding high ethical standards in the practice of Pharmacy. He stressed that adherence to ethical guidelines is paramount for every pharmacist, highlighting the significance of the Oath-Taking ceremony as a symbolic commitment to professional integrity.

"As you take the Oath today and become inducted members of the pharmacy profession, I urge you to maintain high ethical standards and leadership qualities," Mr. Ahmed remarked. "The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria views professional misconduct with utmost seriousness, and it is imperative that all pharmacists uphold the principles of ethical practice."

The ceremony also featured a keynote address by Hon. Chika Ugwuoke, Enugu State Commissioner for Labour and Employment, who shed light on the evolving landscape of Pharmacy practice in the 21st century. He underscored the expanding roles and responsibilities of pharmacists beyond traditional dispensing, emphasizing the need for continuous professional development and adaptability to technological advancements.
Prof. Charles Igwe, Vice-Chancellor of UNN, and Prof. Ikechukwu Onyishi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, UNN, both congratulated the graduates on their achievement and urged them to be exemplary ambassadors of the university. They emphasized the importance of leveraging their education to make meaningful contributions to society while upholding moral and ethical values.
The ceremony culminated in the recognition of outstanding graduates, with Ejiofor Victor being announced as the Faculty Overall Best Graduating Student (Valedictorian), and Muoghara Mary-Precious receiving the distinction of Best Graduating Student in the Final Year.
