The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed is set to be honoured as an Honorary Professor by the Warsaw University of Management in Poland.
The Vice-Chancellor unveiled the cheering news while speaking at a Public Lecture titled “ Academic Linkages, Research, and Scholarly Opportunities within the Polish Framework” organized by the Directorate of Linkages and International Collaboration which took place on Tuesday 3rd October 2023 at the auditorium of the School of Postgraduate Studies.
Professor Suleiman stated that a visit to receive the honour will also avail him the opportunity to sign more M.O.Us with other Polish Universities to further increase linkages with the University and also check up on students of the University who are currently studying in Poland.
In her remarks, the guest speaker and Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Nigeria, Her Excellency, Joanna Tarnawaska stated that Poland holds great opportunities for Academic Linkages and Scholarly opportunities within the Polish framework noting that Poland boasts of some of the best Universities in Europe which offer excellent research opportunities
Ambassador Tarnawaska who gave a brief historical background of Poland thanked the Vice-Chancellor of the University for hosting the public lecture which she stated will give prospective students who want to explore Poland ample information about the country affirming that the Embassy will be willing to give them all the assistance they will need to help them excel in their chosen fields of endeavour.
Earlier, the Director of Linkages and International Collaboration Dr. K'tso Ngharbu stated that as a result of the M.O.U with NSUK and Universities in Poland a student of the Faculty of Agric is currently the best student in the University of Agriculture, Krakow, Poland with a clean CGPA of 5.0.
Highlights of the event were an interactive session with the Polish Ambassador which saw three students winning souvenirs after answering questions with correct answers and the commissioning of the proposed Brunon Holyst Institute for European Studies.
Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Emir of Nasarawa, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril, the Chun Mada, Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, and Abaga of Toni of Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Lawrence Sylvester Ayih.
