Prof. Patrick Ukase of PAAU Awarded Fellowship of the Historical Society of Nigeria

Prof. Patrick Ukase, Director of the Centre for Pre-degree and Diploma Studies and a prominent Professor of Political History and Development at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN). This recognition took place during the ongoing Conference/Congress of the Society in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.

Prof. Ukase, who also serves as the Secretary General of the HSN, was honored for his longstanding contributions to the advancement of historical scholarship in Nigeria. His dedication to the study and promotion of Nigeria’s history, alongside his leadership within the Society, has earned him this esteemed recognition.

Three other distinguished professors were also conferred with the 2024 Fellowship of the Society, highlighting their collective impact on the discipline of history in Nigeria.

This fellowship not only acknowledges Prof. Ukase's invaluable role in preserving Nigeria's historical narratives but also celebrates his efforts in promoting historical education and research. His work has greatly contributed to fostering a deeper understanding of the country’s political and socio-economic evolution.
