Anambra State, Nigeria, is set to embark on a journey towards a technologically advanced future with the launch of the pilot phase of the Solution Wi-Fi initiative. Spearheaded by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, and driven by the Anambra State ICT Agency in collaboration with Pineheight Systems Limited (PHSWEB), this initiative marks a significant stride towards transforming the state into a smart mega city.

Governor Soludo's visionary manifesto, detailed on Pages 20 and 33, outlined commitments to provide cheap and ultimately free Wi-Fi hotspots in public places and to collaborate with development partners to deploy broadband access to schools and public libraries. The launch of the Solution Wi-Fi initiative reaffirms these commitments and represents a resounding fulfillment of promises outlined in the People's Manifesto.

The pilot phase of the initiative, operational in three strategic locations in the state capital Awka namely Aroma Junction, Book Foundation, and UNIZIK Back gate, aims to provide users within these locations with one hour of free internet access every 24 hours. This initiative is expected to not only enhance educational activities but also boost businesses by providing them with opportunities to leverage high-speed internet access for online presence and revenue generation.
