Rango Nigeria Ltd Donates Books Worth ₦5 Million to Support Restoration of Kano State Polytechnic Library

A book publishing company, RANGO NIGERIA LTD, has donated books worth approximately ₦5 million to the Kano State Ministry of Education to support the restoration of the Kano State Polytechnic Library, which was severely damaged by a recent fire that destroyed a large collection of books and reference materials.

The donation was presented by the company's Managing Director, Alhaji Bashir Danladi, on behalf of the Chairman, Alhaji Danladi Garba, as part of the organization's commitment to promoting education and improving access to quality learning resources.

While receiving the donation, the Kano State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, described the gesture as timely and highly commendable, noting that it comes at a critical period when the Polytechnic is working to rebuild its library following the devastating fire incident.

The Commissioner emphasized that the development of education is a shared responsibility that requires the active participation of government, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals. He commended Rango Nigeria Ltd and the Kano State Librarians Association for their generous contribution towards strengthening the education sector in the state.

Speaking on behalf of Kano State Polytechnic, the Deputy Rector (Academic), Engr. Dr. Comrade Ibrahim Usman Aikawa, who represented the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA, expressed profound appreciation for the donation, describing it as a significant intervention that would accelerate the restoration of the institution's library.

He disclosed that the fire caused enormous losses, destroying valuable books and reference materials that had been painstakingly accumulated over more than three decades.

Dr. Aikawa assured the donors that the Polytechnic would ensure the proper preservation and effective utilization of the donated books, while also strengthening safety measures to safeguard the library against future incidents.

He further thanked the company and the Kano State Librarians Association for their generosity, noting that the donation would make a significant contribution to enhancing teaching, learning, and research activities at Kano State Polytechnic.
