TASFUED VC Hosts Usa-Based Alumnus, Calls For Stronger Alumni-University Cooperation
The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, TASFUED, Professor Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELP, has described alumni as ambassadors, mentors, partners, investors and key stakeholders whose global achievements can create valuable opportunities for students and contribute significantly to the growth and development of the University.
Professor Oladipo made the remarks when he received a distinguished alumnus and Chief Executive Officer of USA-based Safeway Logistics and Global Resources, Prince Sikiru Adenuga, during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The visit was aimed at strengthening alumni engagement and fostering global partnerships for institutional development.
Call For Stakeholder Support
The Vice-Chancellor called on stakeholders, private organisations, philanthropists and alumni associations to cooperate with higher institutions in supporting government efforts to provide infrastructure, equipment and other resources.
He noted that such support is capable of enhancing the quality, competitiveness and global ranking of Nigerian universities.

Professor Oladipo reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a globally connected, innovative and industry-relevant institution. He urged TASFUED alumni in Nigeria and across the world to reconnect with their alma mater and contribute meaningfully to its continued growth.
He emphasized that alumni contributions should go beyond financial support to include scholarships, mentorship, internships, research collaborations, technology transfer, equipment donations and corporate partnerships.
Partnership With Safeway Logistics Explored
The visit also provided an opportunity to explore strategic collaboration between TASFUED and Safeway Logistics and Global Resources, a company specializing in US-Nigeria vehicle importation, freight forwarding and international logistics.
In his response, Prince Adenuga expressed his commitment to supporting the development of his alma mater. He pledged to mobilize other successful TASFUED alumni in the diaspora to contribute their expertise, networks and resources toward the advancement of the University.
Also present were Mr. Oyenuga Olasunkanmi Ayodeji, Business Manager of TTI-HUB Ltd., the University’s indigenous technology hub, and Dr. Adewale Kayode, a Lecturer at the College of Specialised and Professional Studies Education, COSPED, and Ogun State Education Ambassador.
Their participation broadened discussions around technology integration, industry partnerships, entrepreneurship and innovation-driven development.
