In an extraordinary accomplishment, 19-year-old Haley Taylor Schlitz has graduated with honors from the Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, becoming the youngest black law graduate in the history of the institution.

Haley gained widespread attention in 2019 when she was accepted into nine law schools at the age of 16. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman’s University. After receiving acceptance letters from multiple prestigious law schools, Haley chose to pursue her Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where she recently completed her studies.

Acknowledging her mother as her biggest motivator and supporter, Haley highlighted the influential role her mother, an ER doctor, played in guiding her career choices. Despite initially aspiring to become an ER doctor, Haley transitioned to pursue law, with her mother remaining a vital advisor and counselor in her life.
