Salem University, Lokoja, Kogi State, has officially commenced the screening process for prospective candidates aiming to enroll for the 2024/2025 academic session. The screening began on August 12 and is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate candidates.

Prof. Alewo Johnson-Akubo, the Vice-Chancellor of Salem University, emphasized the university's commitment to maintaining high admission standards. “There is no room for compromise when it comes to admission of undergraduate and postgraduate students into various courses offered by our six colleges,” Johnson-Akubo stated.

Salem University operates through a diverse range of colleges, including the College of Law, College of Humanities, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, College of Education, College of Information and Communication Technology, and the College of Management and Social Sciences, as well as the College of Graduate Studies and the Pre-Varsity School.

In a significant development, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that seven new programs are set for verification by the National Universities Commission (NUC). These programs include Anatomy, Physiology, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, and Public Health under the College of Basic Health and Allied Sciences, as well as Cybersecurity and Data Science in the College of Information and Communications Technology.

Johnson-Akubo highlighted Salem University's mission to produce graduates who are “mentally alert, spiritually alive, and intellectually developed to change their world positively.” He assured that all academic programs at Salem University are fully accredited by the NUC and are designed to meet industry needs and address job market challenges.

“The university is dedicated to providing a seamless start to students' professional and career journeys,” the Vice-Chancellor added. “We offer modern recreational facilities and standard hostel accommodations to make learning a fun and rewarding experience.”
