Security Alert Issued at Borno State University After Student Robbery

A 300-level female student of Biotechnology at Borno State University was attacked and robbed on Friday while traveling from the school gate to Ngomari Junction.

The incident occurred when the student boarded a Keke Napep with three other passengers, who turned out to be armed robbers.

The robbers, disguising as fellow passengers, restrained the student and demanded her phone and other valuables. When she refused, they assaulted her, punching her on the head, and made off with her belongings.

In light of this incident, students have been advised to exercise caution when using Keke Napep, especially with unknown passengers. Recommendations include avoiding walking alone when possible, informing a trusted individual of their movement, and being vigilant.

The university management has been urged to strengthen security measures around the school gate to ensure student safety.
