In a groundbreaking announcement less than 24 hours after the completion of the Amankalu Alayi road in Bende L.G.A, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a multiple award-winning lawmaker, revealed the strategic focus behind his relentless dedication to Roads construction, Agriculture, Education, Health, and Infrastructure throughout his tenure.
Addressing a massive audience of over two hundred thousand followers on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, the distinguished Abia-North Senator outlined his conviction that investments in these critical sectors would create unprecedented opportunities, particularly for women and youth, fostering meaningful engagement.

Reflecting on his past role as Governor (1999-2007), Kalu emphasized his commitment to comprehensive development, citing the establishment of the Abia State University (ABSU) and the Abia State Teaching University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH). During his gubernatorial tenure, he not only subsidized the fees of these institutions but also ensured regular payment of staff salaries.
In his post, Kalu expressed, "I ensured that our mothers and children received proper medical attention by making drugs available and accessible, which also necessitated building ABSUTH in Aba."

As a current lawmaker, Kalu listed his notable achievements, including the construction of over 60 rural roads, the establishment and equipping of 70 new schools across Abia North Senatorial District, and the distribution of free textbooks and educational materials. His commitment to youth development and education was further exemplified by sponsoring the Universal Free Education Bill.
Elected in 2019 and recently re-elected in 2023, Senator Kalu has garnered multiple awards for executing numerous infrastructure projects in his constituency. These projects encompass the construction of over 62 rural roads, rehabilitation/construction of school and health center buildings, installation of water boreholes, and various initiatives supporting farmers and artisans.

Additionally, he was crowned the 2022 Best Senator of the Year in Constituency Projects by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Abuja Chapters.
