Senate Committee Investigates UniAbuja Students' Expulsion
Both students, directors in the UniAbuja Students’ Union, were expelled just after completing their final-year exams. The institution accused them of inciting a protest if fee increases weren't revoked within five days.
The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions has summoned Cyprian Igwe and Olamilekan Oladeru, expelled University of Abuja students, for an inquiry into their removal in July. The students, accused of planning a protest against proposed fee hikes, sought Senate intervention to be reinstated.

The Senate, responding to their petition, has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, November 21, 2023. The committee aims to address the alleged wrongful accusation, detention, and rustication from the university.
The students anticipate the Senate's intervention to reinstate them and review the school fees to ensure accessibility for all students.
