Senator Barau Unveils 1,000 Scholarships and 7 New University Study Centres in Kano

In a significant move to boost higher education in Kano State, Deputy Senate President Senator Barau I. Jibrin has announced 1,000 degree scholarships for students in Kano Central and Kano South Senatorial Districts.

This initiative is part of his broader vision to expand university education across all 44 local government areas (LGAs) of Kano State.

Seven new study centres will be established in Madobi, Kiru, Tudun Wada, Rano, Gaya, Dawakin Kudu, and Minjibir LGAs, in collaboration with Federal University, Dutsin-ma (FUDMA), Katsina State. This development builds on Senator Barau's previous efforts, which saw the establishment of four study centres in Gwarzo, Danbatta, Dawakin Tofa, and Gabasawa LGAs in Kano North, enabling over 1,000 students to pursue various degree programs.

To facilitate smooth operations at the new centres, 1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students from Kano Central and Kano South to study ICT-related courses at FUDMA study centres. Senator Barau reaffirmed his commitment to providing quality education across all 44 LGAs of Kano State, emphasizing that education is the bedrock of national development.

 

This initiative is in line with Senator Barau's previous efforts to promote education in Kano State, including the Barau I. Jibrin Foundation's postgraduate scholarship opportunities for students to study Artificial Intelligence, Forensic Sciences, and Robotics Sciences abroad .
