SLU VC Describes Climate Change as “One of the Greatest Challenges of Human Existence”

Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, Vice‑Chancellor of Sule Lamido University (SLUK), Kafin Hausa, declared climate change “one of the greatest challenges that have profound implications on health, agriculture, the economy and the very fabric of human existence.”

He made the assertion during the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Conference of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (FSMS) held on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.

The conference, themed *“Climate Change: Adaptation, Policy Innovation and Sustainable Development,” provided a platform for scholars and policymakers to interrogate issues, exchange ideas, and propose context‑relevant solutions for Nigeria, Africa, and the wider global community.
