The Sokoto State Government recently held a convocation ceremony at the Kasarawa Conference Centre for 88 returnee medical students who completed their studies at Usmanu Danfodiyo University.

The Sokoto State Government has celebrated the graduation of 88 returnee medical students from Sudan, who completed their studies at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The convocation ceremony took place at the Kasarawa Conference Centre, Sokoto.

These students were originally enrolled at Sudan International University, Khartoum, but were repatriated to Nigeria due to the conflict in Sudan. They were integrated into the medical program at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, where they successfully concluded their medical education.

Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi, Sokoto State Commissioner for Higher Education, represented Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the event. Abdullahi praised the governor for his exceptional commitment to advancing higher education in Sokoto State. He highlighted the governor's efforts in prioritizing education and improving infrastructure in tertiary institutions.

“The governor’s dedication to education is evident in the advancements we are witnessing. Our government is committed to providing qualitative education and ensuring that our students have the best resources available,” Abdullahi stated. He further emphasized that the administration views education as a fundamental right and will continue to support it vigorously.

Abdullahi extended congratulations from Governor Ahmed Aliyu to the graduating students, urging them to apply their knowledge professionally to benefit humanity.
