SPE Igbinedion University Inspires Students at the Ambassador Lecture Programme

In a bid to foster community engagement and educational empowerment, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) conducted a successful Ambassador Lecture Programme (ALP) on Friday, March 8, 2024. The event, held in Okada, Edo State, brought together the President and members of SPE IUO, teachers from Okada Grammar School, and a lecturer from IUO.
The focus of the ALP was to mentor students from Okada Grammar School, enlightening them on the field of engineering and equipping them with the tools to navigate societal challenges. The interactive sessions left the students visibly inspired and motivated to pursue further studies in engineering.

Teachers from Okada Grammar School actively participated in the programme, collaborating with the SPE IUO team to ensure the students gained valuable insights. One notable outcome of the ALP was the commitment made by Okada Grammar School to partake in the upcoming YMCTY program scheduled for 2025. This initiative, in collaboration with the Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigeria Council (SPENC), aims to further engage students in educational activities that bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The event not only showcased the dedication of SPE IUO to community service but also highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing and mentorship in nurturing the next generation of engineers and professionals.
