The announcement of the grant was made by Mr. Stephen Banigo, the Special Assistant on Media to the Speaker. Mr. Banigo emphasized that the initiative comes in light of the prevailing economic challenges facing the country, coupled with the need to provide relief for parents and self-sponsored students grappling with the burden of educational expenses.
The allocation of the grant underscores the commitment of the Rivers State government, led by Governor Fubara, and its legislative arm to prioritize education and support students in pursuing their academic aspirations.
