SSANU Threatens Nationwide Shutdown, Vows to Ground Institutions Over Unpaid Salaries

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) is preparing to convene another National Executive Council meeting due to the government's failure to release withheld salaries of its members. 

SSANU President, Muhammed Ibrahim, disclosed this in Abuja, stating that the decision follows a recent seven-day warning strike embarked upon by university workers.

The strike was initiated to protest the Federal Government's refusal to release four-month salaries withheld in 2021 due to a previous strike action, despite the current administration's order to release the salaries of Academic Staff Union of Universities members.
