Student Alleges Unfair Grading by Lecturer

A student of Benue State University's Faculty of Law has alleged that a lecturer, Dr. Ornguga, unfairly graded him with an "E" in his Law of Tort course, despite his excellent academic performance.

The student, Peter Chekwube Abugu, claims that the grade was deliberate and part of a pattern of victimization. He cites his consistent academic excellence, with grades ranging from A to C in over 60 law courses, as evidence that the "E" grade was unwarranted.

Abugu alleges that Dr. Ornguga's actions were motivated by a desire to victimize him after he received an award for academic excellence, which Dr. Ornguga presented to him. He also claims that Dr. Ornguga deviated from his usual practice of publishing test scores and refused to review his records or clarify the grade.

Similar allegations have been made by other students who received awards alongside Abugu, with one student's script being remarked by a committee of lecturers and found worthy of a B grade.

Abugu has expressed his inability to forgive Dr. Ornguga, citing the lecturer's alleged deliberate actions and refusal to correct the grade.
