Taraba State University Achieves Medical Milestone with Successful Appendectomy Surgery
Taraba State University has reached a significant milestone under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, with the successful completion of its first-ever appendectomy surgery at the university clinic.
The groundbreaking procedure was witnessed by key university officials, including Prof. Jonathan Rubean, representing the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mahmud Hamidu Umar, Dr. Joseph U. Bibinu, Mrs. Justina Akawu, and Dr. Bako, among other dignitaries.
Prof. Rubean commended the vital funding from Tedfund that enabled the clinic's renovation and expressed gratitude to the university management and the Health Services Management Board for providing necessary medical equipment and staff. He also acknowledged the unwavering commitment and support of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas.
The university's clinic, primarily established for its students, currently serves 50,563 registered students. Dr. Bako Istifanus Ali, Director of the Health Services Unit, highlighted the clinic's facilities, while Dr. Isaiah Hunu-ato, the surgeon, thanked the university's leadership for establishing the infrastructure that enabled such advanced medical procedures.
This achievement marks a new era in the university's healthcare services, bringing quality medical care closer to the students and university community.
