Taraba State University Issues Security Advisory Ahead of Jukun-Kona Traditional Festival

 The Management of Taraba State University (TSU), through the Student Affairs Division, has issued a formal advisory to the student body regarding the upcoming annual traditional ritual festival of the Jukun-Kona people of the Kofai Community (ATC).

The festival, a significant cultural event for the host community, is scheduled to take place from Thursday, March 5, to Saturday, March 7, 2026.

In an official circular signed by the Student Affairs Officer, Nuvalga Kelvin Hosea, the university emphasized that the rituals are strictly reserved for the Jukun-Kona-speaking people. Consequently, all students who do not belong to this specific ethnic group have been strongly advised to stay away from the venue of the ritual festival for the duration of the event.

The university management warned that any student who violates this directive will be held personally responsible for the consequences. The notice serves as a proactive measure to ensure the safety of students and maintain the peaceful coexistence between the university and its host community.
