TASU To Investigate The Report Of Misconduct In Hostels

 

Taraba State University (TSU) under Prof. Sunday Paul Bako has taken a serious action in response to recent reports of the university.

The management has launched a comprehensive investigation to thoroughly check the allegations lebelled from sources and ensure a safe and good behaviour of students in the hostel.

As part of parental upbringing and good grooming, the university has gotten reports on the cases of harassment, unauthorized gatherings, and property damage within the hostels.

TSUrecognized the seriousness of these allegations and is committed to addressing them promptly and effectively.

The hostel to be investigated are:

 1. Justice Josephine 

Tuktur (JJT) hostel

2. Zenith Hostel 

3.  Newly Renovated hostel.

The investigation will be conducted by a dedicated team comprising of university officials to serve as an adhoc commitee that is saddled with the responsibility of investigating the female hostels mentioned, as well to check some abnormalbehavior of the female 

students. The committee members comprises of: Dr. Bakari Usman - Chairman

Mr. Abyiyi Joseph - Member

Mrs. Favour C. Abba - member

Mr. Jeremiah S. Adamu - Member

SUG President - Member

SUG Woman Leader - Member

Samira Umar Buba - Member.

They were presented with the following 

terms of reference:

1 . To investigate the allegations lebelled, as well misconduct (in the female hostels).

2. Recommend necessary disciplinary

action to betaken against the students.

3. Any other recommendations that will help to curtail the act of indiscipline  

amongst students in the hostels.

4. The committee is expected to submit their 

report to the Dean of Student Affairs 

on or before Monday 23rd October, 

2023.

The university remain committed to

ensure safe campus where allstudents can pursue their learning witha measure of reassurance.

Also, TSU urges students to remain vigilant,

supportive to one another, and report any 

incidents of misconduct promptly.
