The management of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun , Ogun State has announced plans to shut down the institution for two weeks with immediate effect.

Myschoolnews reports, this is coming on the heels of bloody clashes between the Iwameje community and Students living in the community.

 

The unfortunate clash is said to have led to the death of one student with some houses in the community razed to the ground.

The statement released by the public relations officer of the institution to this effect partly read "(The school) senate approved two weeks break for the closure of the university.

 

"The closure is to allow the university to carry out investigations into the immediate and remote causes of the crisis .

"A committee to be headed by the former dean, Student affairs and Dean, college of vocational and Technology Education Prof. B.J.O Ayorinde was set up to carry out necessary investigations and come up with ways to avoid future reoccurrences."

 

The institution thereafter called for calm Whilst stating a delegation from the school would be visiting the parents of the deceased student soon.
