Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has confirmed the tragic death of a teacher who was abducted alongside schoolchildren in Kuriga, Chikun Local Area of Kaduna State. The governor disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television's Sunday Politics program. He clarified that all 137 schoolchildren abducted by terrorists were successfully rescued by the military in collaboration with local authorities from Zamfara State.

The abduction occurred on March 7, 2024, at Government Secondary and Primary Schools, Kuriga 1, Chikun LGA. Governor Sani expressed regret over the teacher's demise due to health complications while in captivity. He confirmed that the rescued schoolchildren had returned safely, except for the deceased teacher.
