TETFund Outlines Expectations for Higher Education Institutions

The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, has set clear expectations for heads of beneficiary institutions to enhance global competitiveness. Speaking at a retreat for the Board of Trustees in Lagos, he emphasized the need for high-quality project execution and timely delivery.

Echono urged institutions to manage resources efficiently and improve communication with contractors to avoid delays and inflation-related issues. He also called for better supervision of projects and encouraged leveraging TETFund support for research and revenue generation.

Chairman of the TETFund Board of Trustees, Rt. Hon. Aminu Masari, echoed the importance of the board's role in advancing higher education. Former NUC Executive Secretary Prof. Abubakar Rasheed underscored TETFund’s vital contribution to the survival of public tertiary institutions and the necessity for collaboration between the board and management.
