In a significant move aimed at bolstering Nigeria's tertiary education sector, President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, as the new chairman of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) board. This announcement was made on Tuesday by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
Masari, who served as the governor of Katsina State and was previously the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, will lead the TETFund board alongside six other newly appointed members. The new board members include Senator Sani Danladi, Mr. Sunday Adepoju, Mr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, Mrs. Esther Onyinyechukwu Ukachukwu, Mr. Turaki Ibrahim, and Mr. Aboh Eduyok
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund is a critical institution in Nigeria, responsible for providing supplementary support to all levels of public tertiary institutions. The fund aims to enhance the quality of education through the provision of infrastructure, instructional materials, and academic staff training and development.
