UCH Opens First of its Kind Medical Museum in Nigeria for Commercial Use

The University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, led by Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, has officially unveiled its medical museum to the public, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's healthcare landscape.
As the first of its kind among tertiary healthcare institutions in Nigeria, the UCH medical museum stands as a testament to the rich history and evolution of medicine in the country.
The Museum was commissioned on February 9th, 2011, the UCH medical museum is now accessible to visitors, individuals, private organizations, and corporations to explore the full collection of medical history. It houses an impressive array of artifacts, including equipment used during the hospital's inception, orthodox medical relics and portraits of influential figures in Nigerian medicine.
Portraits and photographs in the museum immortalize the visionaries who shaped Nigeria's medical landscape, from founding fathers of medicine to Chief Executives and Boards of Management. The Museum also has modern upgrades and recent renovations that align the museum with global healthcare standards, ensuring an environment that reflects contemporary trends and innovations.
