UDUS Students Defy CSO Directive on Late-Night Gatherings

Students at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), are reportedly disregarding a directive from the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Mr. Abdullahi Gwandu, prohibiting Morocco-related gatherings after 10:00 PM in school hostels.

Despite the CSO's explicit warning and announced security patrols starting July 11, 2025, students continue to engage in late-night activities at the Morocco grounds.

The directive aimed to address rising concerns over phone snatching, smoking, and alleged sexual assaults in the area. However, an undercover investigation revealed no visible security presence, raising questions about enforcement seriousness. The Morocco grounds remain a hotspot at night, with students gathering beyond the stipulated time.
